Hey Dapperites! This post is dedicated to one my favorite trends and latest addiction: lapel flowers. Up until several months ago, I hadn’t messed around with lapel flowers, aka boutonnieres, since high school prom or as a groomsmen in weddings. But when these bad boys started hitting the fashion scene, I was hooked. Lapel flowers offer a great way to flair up an otherwise mundane fit. All the flowers you see here are by Harrison Blake Apparel, an up-and-coming menswear shop. As you can see from the above shots, the flowers from this store are especially creative and colorful. Lapel flowers have become such a staple in my suit game that I currently refuse to buy a suit jacket or blazer unless it has the lapel buttonhole. I even went so far as to have a tailor alter some existing jackets I had to sew the buttonhole in (on a side note, it was surprisingly difficult to find a tailor who was willing to do this!). Actually most jackets will come with this buttonhole sewn shut. Don’t let that deter you. You can easily get a tailor to open it up.

So if you haven’t dabbled in the world of lapel flowers, class up your outfit and gain dapper points by dropping on one (or more) today!
